Come experiment with your body’s very own secret weapon for self regulation, your breath. The breath is the only aspect of your autonomic nervous system under our conscious control.
In this workshop, we will explore an embodied experience of the fundamental principles of respiratory physiology so that you can begin to develop bidirectional communication with your nervous system. We will experiment with myriad techniques, from down-regulating parasympathetic oriented breath, to more activating consciousness expanding breath.
The intention of the lab is to give you the chance to observe your very own body’s unique response and build a literacy for communicating with thine own nervous system.

Neuroscience & Physiology Behind the Healing Potential of Conscious Connected Breathwork
By the end of this session, participants will be able to:
-Understand breathing as a core biological system that regulates energy, stress, and adaptation, and why conscious connected breathwork (CCB) can strongly influence this system.
-Differentiate between automatic breathing and consciously guided breathing, and understand why intentional, high-ventilation breathwork has distinct effects on the brain and nervous system.
-Explain how conscious connected breathwork influences body awareness, emotions, and readiness for action, helping clients access and work with intense internal states.
-Recognise “co-activation” states, where arousal and regulation occur together, as a key mechanism supporting insight, learning, and therapeutic change during breathwork.
-Frame conscious connected breathwork as a process of safe disruption and integration, supporting nervous system re-organisation, emotional processing, and longer-term change.
